Women's Lacrosse Announces Newcomers For 2016 Campaign

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass women's lacrosse head coach Angela McMahon has announced the addition of 13 newcomers to the program which will be seeking its eighth consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship title this spring. In addition to the 11 freshmen additions, the Minutewomen are also adding Florida transfer Hannah Burnett and Cincinnati transfer Alex Flobeck to the squad.
"We're very excited to add this terrific group of student-athletes to our program," said head coach Angela McMahon. "I think the skills, passion and competitive spirit will enhance our program as we work to achieve our goal of an Atlantic 10 championship title and a berth to the NCAA Tournament."
Hannah Burnett
Sophomore • Attack • 5-7 • Huntington, N.Y. • Huntington HS • Florida
Joins UMass after playing freshman campaign at the University of Florida in 2014 ... Was an SEC All-Academic Team selection with the Gators ... Played in five games with one goal and five groundballs ... An outstanding prep player for Kathy Wright at Huntington High School where she was a 2013 U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American ... Notched 72 goals and 42 assists as a senior ... Finished her career with 185 goals and 126 assists ... As a senior in 2013, ranked 3rd on Long Island overall in points ... Listed on ESPN's Player Watch List as a sophomore and junior ... Selected to the Suffolk County All-Division squad in 2011, 2012 and 2013 ... Also a three-time all-county selection in soccer and was a two-year member of the basketball team ... Academically, was a four-year selection as a New York State Scholar-Athlete for both soccer and lacrosse, was a member of the National Honor Society and received the Presidents's Education Award For Outstanding Academic Excellence.

Was twice tabbed an Eastern Mass All-Star and earned all-conference honors three consecutive years ... Named to the Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic teams as well ... Finished her career with 291 goals and 135 assists ... Also an all-conference performer in soccer and basketball.

Was a four-year scholar-athlete and a four-sport athlete as she also competed in soccer, basketball and volleyball ... Netted 78 career goals and 55 career assists ... As a senior, tallied 47 goals and 47 assists.
Cassidy Doster

A four-year all-league member for LaFayette High School under head coach Rick Storrior ... Helped the Lancers win four consecutive league titles ... A two-time team captain as a junior and senior where she also led the team in scoring ... Had 63 goals, 23 assists, 69 draw controls and 18 groundballs in senior campaign ... Also as a senior, was an Academic All-American, was honored as the all-area player of the year, was named the Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Lacrosse Player of the Year ... and was the league's offensive player of the year ... Earned all-district first team, all-region first team and all-league first team honors as a sophomore (2013), junior (2014) and senior (2015) ... For her career, posted 99 goals, 121 assists 88 draw controls and 108 groundballs ... In 2015, her 57 assists set a new school record while she also added 42 goals ...
