Sheridan Named MVP Of North-South All-Star Game

RADNOR, Pa. - UMass senior defender Kelsey Sheridan (Chelmsford, Mass.) was named the MVP of the IWLCA North/South All-Star Game after helping the North to a 9-8 win over the South on Saturday. Sheridan was one of three Minutewomen competing in the game as fellow seniors Tanner Guarino (Framingham, Mass.) and Kelsey McGovern (Acton, Mass.) were also selected to the North all-star squad.

Sheridan started the game on Saturday finishing with a groundball and two draw controls. The first-team all-region and first-team All-Atlantic 10 honoree was a key figure in helping the North squad control possession throughout the game. The North held an 18-12 advantage in groundballs, an 8-4 edge in draw controls and forced the South into 12 turnovers.

Guarino and McGovern also played key roles for the North all-stars as each tallied goals in the contest.
