Minutewoman Of The Game: Jasmine Watson

During the 2011-12 season, UMass will be featuring a "Minutewoman of the Game" at home games throughout the year. In addition to being featured on the program card, the Minutewoman of the Game will also be available for an autograph session following the game.
Junior center Jasmine Watson is in her third season with the Minutewomen and was the second player in UMass history to be named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year when she captured the award as a freshman in 2010.
Jasmine is the fourth player in program history from Indiana and chose to come to UMass for the chance to live on the East Coast and get to know another part of the country, in addition to the great academic support the University offers for its student-athletes. She loves the school's atmosphere and being able to travel to new places.
Majoring in Kinesiology, Jasmine enjoys learning about anatomy and how the body works. She one day hopes to become a physical therapist working with athletes.
Jasmine is a great singer and often performs the National Anthem before UMass basketball games and says her teammates would describe her as "passionate and crazy". Her favorite part about playing basketball for the Minutewomen is feeling like she has another family away from home.
Jasmine's favorite basketball memory is going to the Atlantic 10 Tournament and having her family from back in Indiana surprise her by coming to the tournament.
