AMHERST, Mass. - UMass women's lacrosse attack Jackie Lyons has been named the UMass Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Athletic Department on Tuesday. Lyons had a nine-point weekend to lead the Minutewomen to a pair of wins against George Washington and Richmond and the Atlantic 10 regular season title.

In Friday's 21-6 win over the Colonials, the Rocky Point, N.Y. native recorded a hat trick and added two assists and followed it up with two goals and two helpers on Senior Day in a 14-4 victory against the Spiders.

So far this season, the two-time Atlantic 10 All-Tournament and A-10 First Team All-Conference member has 28 goals and 24 assists for 52 points.

The Minutewomen, who currently lead the Atlantic 10 and sit 11th nationally in scoring defense by giving up 8.53 goals per game, will travel to Saint Joseph's for the regular season finale on Saturday before the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championships begin on April 29 on the campus of Temple University.
