UMass Women's Lacrosse Announces Fall Ball Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's lacrosse team announced its 2009 fall ball schedule on Thursday. The Minutewomen will participate in six events culminating in the 2009 UMass Alumni Game on October 31 at Garber Field. Massachusetts finished last season with an 11-8 record, highlighted by an Atlantic 10 championship and a NCAA Tournament berth for the first time since 1984.
On Saturday, September 26, UMass will kick off its fall season with the Nick Collelouri Lacrosse Classic at Hofstra University. The Minutewomen will faceoff against Adelphi, Hofstra, Albany and Stonehill throughout the day beginning at 11:30 AM.
UMass will then compete in the Beanpot Tournament, hosted by Harvard University, on October 3. The Minutewomen will have a game against Boston University at 12:40 PM before squaring off with Stanford at 1:50 PM. The next day, UMass will return to Amherst for a tilt against Connecticut at McGuirk Stadium at 1 PM.
New Hampshire will be hosting the UNH Fall Ball Classic on October 17, with the Minutewomen competing against Boston College and the host school; times for these games have not been released.
UMass and Adelphi will faceoff again on October 24 at 11 AM before the Minutewomen conclude their fall season with the UMass Alumni Game on Halloween the next week. The game will be played at Garber Field and is scheduled to begin at 10 AM.
