Cosgrove Named To IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass women's lacrosse senior midfielder Merritt Coscrove has been named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the institution Tuesday. Cosgrove, a Communications major, was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team following both her sophomore and junior seasons. She will look to lead the Minutewomen in defense of their A-10 title this spring.
The IWLCA has recognized 442 student-athletes at 162 institutions for their excellence in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year. All student-athletes were nominated by their institutions and have attained at least junior standing academically. Nominees considered had a GPA of at least 3.5 or were in the top 10 percent of their squad.
On the field, Cosgrove has totaled 21 goals and three assists in 53 career games played. She has also amassed 67 draw controls during her first three seasons with Massachusetts.
