Kelsey Schreiner Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week

Amherst, Mass. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced Monday that freshman midfielder Kelsey Schreiner was named the women's lacrosse Rookie of the Week. Schreiner's five goals helped propel the Minutewomen to two victories over St. Joseph's and La Salle.
In Friday's game against St. Joseph's, Schreiner scored her third goal of the season with 14:11 to play in regulation that gave UMass a 8-7 lead. In Sunday's contest against La Salle Schreiner led the Minutewomen with four goals, including three in the second half.
UMass Women's Lacrosse is now 5-9 on the season with a 3-2 conference record, good for third in the Atlantic 10 standings. The Minutewomen will play host to St. Bonaventure and Duquesne on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Friday's game against the Bonnies will begin at 4PM, while Sunday's contest against the Dukes will start at 1PM. Both games will be played at McGuirk Stadium.
