PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Kathleen Typadis (Medfield, Mass.) tied her career-high with five goals and three other Minutewomen posted hat tricks to lead UMass to a 16-10 win at La Salle on Saturday afternoon. The Minutewomen scored 11 second half goals to improve to 5-9 overall and 2-2 in the Atlantic 10. For Typadis, this was the second time in her career that she scored five goals in a game against La Salle. She set the mark last season in UMass' 12-11 win in Amherst. She now has 70 career goals in 31 games.

Senior Kerri Connerty (Nashua, N.H.) scored a goal and added an assist today to move into eighth all-time on UMass' top-10 points list with 123 for her career.

La Salle (5-9, 1-3 A-10) was led by Emily Bonczek who scored three goals and added an assist and Ann Anderson who scored three goals.

Sophomore Krissy Anderson (Baldwin, N.Y.) picked up the win in cage for UMass making 11 saves. Chantelle McCormick started the game for the Explorers making eight saves in 46 minutes of work.

Both teams traded goals in the first half with freshman Meghan Reddy (Salem, N.H.) scoring with 2:39 before halftime to give the Minutewomen a 5-4 lead at intermission.

UMass went up two to start the second half on a Typadis goal and the two teams continued trading goals with Jessica Plsek pulling the Explorers back within one, 8-7, with 18:05 to play.

The Minutewomen then went on an 8-1 scoring run highlighted by all three of Cassell's goals.

The Explorers scored the final two goals of the game in the final three minutes.

UMass returns home next Sunday, April 23 when the Minutewomen host Atlantic 10 rival Temple at Noon. Admission is free to all!
