    AMHERST, Mass. -- The 2005-06 University of Massachusetts women's basketball annual awards banquet was held Sunday, April 9 in the Massachusetts room of the Mullins Center. Pam Rosanio was the recipient of the Jack Leaman Award, the team MVP as voted upon by the coaches. Alisha Tatham was also the Minutewoman of the Year Award winner. UMass' three seniors, Patrycja Gulak, Katie Nelson and Ashley Sharpton, each spoke and were honored for their UMass careers.

    Rosanio was the recipient of the Jack Leaman Award. The award is given annually to the unofficial team MVP as voted upon by the coaches. Rosanio led the team in scoring for the second straight season and was a second-team All-Conference pick. She averaged 12.5 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game. Rosanio was a 76 percent free throw shooter and also dished out 75 assists.

    Tatham was the first recipient of the Minutewoman Of The Year Award. The coaches gave a weekly award this season for the first time and this award was a continuation of it. The award recognizes the hardest-working individual on the team. Tatham averaged 3.9 points per game and 2.2 rebounds per game and was one of the best defenders on the team.
