Women's Lacrosse Game Versus Syracuse to Be Broadcast

AMHERST, Mass. - After winning the UMassAthletics.com fan poll, the women's lacrosse game against Syracuse will be broadcast live on the Internet. The marquee match-up will highlight a spring sports package of 10-12 games to be carried live on the official web site of UMass athletics.
The games will be spread out among the women's lacrosse, men's lacrosse, softball and baseball teams. Other games to be broadcast will be announced later in the season.
Both lacrosse teams open their respective seasons this weekend as the Minutewomen host Holy Cross at Garber Field on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start. The men's team will travel to Hofstra with game time set for Noon.
The baseball team opens up its slate this weekend as they travel down to the University of New Orleans for a three-day series starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The softball team has already opened up its season and will return to action on Friday at the prestigious NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga. The Minutewomen will face No. 23 Georgia and Cal State Northridge on Friday with action starting at 5:00 p.m. UMass is 0-1 on the season after falling to then-No. 23 Texas A&M on Feb. 13 at The Kajikawa Classic in Phoenix, Ariz.
