Two Minutewomen Earn All-Region Honors

AMHERST, Mass. - Junior Kristin St. Hilaire (Syracuse, N.Y.) and senior Tracey Drown (Nashua, N.H.) of the University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse team have been selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I All-North Region team. St. Hilaire earned first team honors, while Drown was named to the second team.
St. Hilaire, who has also been named 2004 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year, anchored a Massachusetts defense which allowed 12.79 goals per game this year. She also led the team with 46 groundballs and 24 caused opponent turnover on the year. St. Hilaire started 15 of UMass' 16 games this season, and has now started 50 career games as a Minutewomen. Over the course of her career, St. Hilaire has totaled 109 groundballs and 85 caused turnovers.
Drown, who has also been selected All-Atlantic 10, led the team in points with 64 points this season on 47 goals and 17 assists. She also led the team with 19 draw controls, while ranking second on the squad with 26 groundballs. This year, Drown placed second on the UMass single season list for goals scored with 47, and sixth for points scored with 64. Over the course of her UMass career, Drown totaled 81 points on 61 goals and 20 assists.
The Minutewomen posted an overall record of 6-10 in 2004, and placed third in the Atlantic 10 with a 4-3 mark in conference games. UMass also advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
