AMHERST, Mass.- Jeff Deren (Chicopee, Mass.) was recently named to the College Soccer News All-America third team. Deren was one of 10 forwards named to the three teams, and marked the second straight season that Deren earned All-America honors.

Deren, the two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, scored a school-record 51 points (22 g, 7 a). His 22 goals was a school record as well, and he finished the season fifth in the country in scoring per game at 2.55 points per game. His 22 goals ranked him fourth in the country as well as goals per game (1.10 gpg). He led the Minutemen to a 12-6-2 mark and an Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title, UMass' second in three years.

Deren ended his career with a school record 113 points, becoming the first UMass player to surpass the century mark. He scored 48 career goals, another school record and finished with 17 assists, which ranks him seventh on the all-time UMass chart. He was a three-time winner of the Dinn Brothers / UMass Athlete of the Week award, a two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week winner and was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament team, the Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team and first team All-New England. Deren is one of eight UMass players to tally four goals in a game, when he accomplished the feat on Oct. 20 against St. Bonaventure. He tallied his second career hat trick in a 4-3 loss in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament.
