Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 14 Dartmouth, 15-5

AMHERST, Mass. - Dartmouth scored seven unanswered goals in the second half to break open a close game en route to a 15-5 victory over the University of Massachusetts in women's lacrosse action this afternoon at Richard F. Garber Field.
Massachusetts opened the scoring on an unassisted goal from junior Leslie Pollock (Watervliet, N.Y.) just over three minutes into the game. No. 14 Dartmouth responded with three straight goals, including two by Amy Frazier to take a 3-1 lead. Junior Kelli Kurtz (Schwenksville, Pa.) scored her 10th goal of the season at the 22:29 mark to cut the Dartmouth lead one. Junior Lydia Robinson (Summit, N.J.) then scored on a free position to tie the game 3-3. It was Robinson's team-leading 18th goal of the season.
The Big Green bounced back with five straight goals, including three by Alison Moulin to take an 8-3 lead with 8:49 remaining in the first half. The Minutewomen stopped the Dartmouth run when sophomore Hope Zelinger (Ellicott City, Md.) scored off a feed from junior Jada Emery (Princeton, N.J.). Massachusetts cut the Dartmouth lead to 8-5 when sophomore Tracey Drown (Nashua, N.H.) scored with 3:20 remaining in the half.
Dartmouth controlled the second half, outscoring the Minutewomen 7-0. Whitney Jamison netted a pair of goals and Moulin added three more to finish the game with six goals. Frazier finished the game with two goals and three assists, while Kate Killen and Molly Jenkins each had two.
Junior Cyndi Doyle (Bridgewater, Vt.) made three saves in cage for the Minutewomen.
The Minutewomen return to action on Sunday, April 7, when they travel to Richmond to take on the Spiders. The game is slated to begin at noon.
