Durham, N.H. - The University of Massachusetts' men's soccer team defeated the University of New Hampshire, 2-0, this afternoon in a non-conference contest. The win improves UMass' record to 3-2 while the Wildcats slip to 2-3 on the season.
Massachusetts scored in the 75th minute as senior Shawn Green (Marshfield, Mass.) drilled a perfectly-placed corner from sophomore Dan Colwell (Spencer, Mass.) past UNH goalie Shaun O'Neil. The Minutemen scored their second goal of the day just eight minutes later as junior Yuri Morales (Santa Cruz, Calif.) found the back of the net to make the score 2-0 and put the game out of reach.
UMass goal keeper Bryan O'Quinn (Feeding Hills, Mass.) had 12 saves on the day while O'Neil tallied 19.
The Minutemen return to action on Saturday, Sept. 22 as they host the University of Maine at 1:00 p.m.
