Three Women's Lacrosse Players To Play At STX Festival

AMHERST, Mass. - Senior midfielders Denise Brey (Tabernacle, N.J.) and Rachel Ingraffea (Ithaca, N.Y.) and goalie Jen Nardi (Valley Cottage, N.Y.) and were selected to the North Division I/II Senior All-Star team that will compete in the STX Festival at Johns Hopkins University on June 9.
Brey, the team leader on defense, started all 16 games this season. She totaled a goal and an assist and also had 18 ground balls, 14 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers to her credit.
Ingraffea also started all 16 games for the Minutewomen, leading them with a career-high 38 goals, 39 points and 43 ground balls. She had a point in all but three games this season, totaling nine hat tricks. She finished 13th in the Atlantic 10 Conference in overall scoring and third in A-10 scoring with 18 points.
In 12 games, Nardi posted a 5-5 record with a 8.98 goals against average and .544 save percentage after working back from pre-season shoulder surgery. Her overall GAA ranked her third in the conference while her 8.00 GAA in conference play placed her second.
UMass closed out its season with a 10-6 loss to Duquesne in the semifinals of the Verizon Atlantic 10 Conference Championship to finish 6-10 overall, 3-2 in the A-10 in 2001.
