Ingraffea And Brey North Regional All-Americans

AMHERST, Mass. - Senior midfielders Rachel Ingraffea (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Denise Brey (Tabernacle, N.J.) were selected to the Division I Brine/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association North Regional All-America Second Team as released by the North Region All-America committee today. Both student-athletes are first time selections.

Ingraffea started all 16 games for the Minutewomen, leading them with a career-high 38 goals, 39 points and 43 ground balls. She had a point in all but three games this season, totaling nine hat tricks. She finished 13th in the Atlantic 10 Conference in overall scoring and third in A-10 scoring with 18 points.

Brey, the team leader on defense, also started all 16 games this season. She totaled a goal and an assist and also had 18 ground balls, 14 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers to her credit.

UMass closed out its season with a 10-6 loss to Duquesne in the semifinals of the Verizon Atlantic 10 Conference Championship to finish 6-10 overall, 3-2 in the A-10 in 2001.
