IT'S ABOUT TIME: Senior defender Jessica Passanese (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) recorded her first career point in Friday's win over the Bonnies. Passanese, one of the team's best defenders, had gone 46 games without recording a point until she netted a first half goal.

Prior to assuming the head coaching position, he was an assistant coach under Francesca McClellan for the past two years. Barnes came to UMass from Holy Cross where he was head coach of the Crusaders from 1996-97. He guided Holy Cross to a 5-9 record in his first season and was named Patriot League Coach of the Year. The five wins were the most for a Holy Cross team since 1992. Barnes also guided the New England II squad to the United States Women's Lacrosse Association National Championship in 1996.
