Men's Soccer Defeats St. Joseph's, 4-2

UMass got on the board right away with an unassisted goal by sophomore Jeff Deren (Chicopee, Mass.) at the 5:27 mark, while Kinateder gave the Minutemen a 2-0 lead with a goal off an assist by sophomore Yuri Morales (Santa Cruz, Calif.) at the 13:40 mark.
The Hawks answered back with a goal by Matt James on a header with assists to Adam Duffy and Andrew Kulinski at the 39:48 mark. UMass quickly regained its two-goal advantage when freshman Ptah Myers (Columbus, Ohio) scored off an assist by junior Max Wolf (Shaker Heights, Ohio) at the 41:03 mark.
Kinateder increased UMass' lead to three goals when he tallied his second goal of the game off a feed by sophomore Andrew Eicher (Billerica, Mass.) at the 56:52 mark. Matt Foster added a goal for the Hawks at the 82:01 mark to conclude the scoring.
Junior Bryan O'Quinn (Feeding Hills, Mass.) recorded four saves for UMass, while Chris DiStephano made four saves for the Hawks.
The Minutemen return to action when they continue their tip to Philadelphia with a match versus Temple on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 1:00 p.m.
