Toby Lane was hired as Director of Operations at UMass in June of 2025 after most recently serving as the Director of Video Operations & Analytics with the University of Texas men’s basketball program. Prior to that, he spent a season as Director of Basketball Operations at Wichita State (2023-24) and the University of Arkansas Little Rock (2022-23) as the Director of Operations.

Lane also made stops at the University of Tulsa (2014-22), the University of Missouri (2011-14), the University of Miami (2007-11), Southeast Missouri State University (2004-07), the University of Oklahoma (2002-04), University of Central Oklahoma (1997-2001), and Neosho County Community College (1996-97).

The Benton, Kansas native earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics from Wichita State in 1993 and later received his master’s degree from University of Central Oklahoma in General Education with an emphasis in Higher Education in 1999.
