Sam Baluzy
- Title:
- Diving Coach
University of Massachusetts swimming and diving head coach Sean Clark announced the addition of Sam Baluzy as the diving coach in 2022. Baluzy was part of the diving team at Loyola University Maryland and was a team captain during his senior season.
“We are very pleased to have Sam join our program,” said Clark. “He comes in with the motivation and knowledge to do a great job. We have a great team culture in place, and it will be exciting to see what he can add. This is a great opportunity for him to help our diving program grow into what we know it can become.”
Baluzy competed for the Grayhounds from 2014-18 and joined the coaching staff as an assistant diving coach for the 2019-20 season. As the assistant diving coach, Baluzy assisted in practices, scheduling, and recruiting.
“I am thrilled to be coaching a sport that I love as part of the UMass Athletics department,” said Baluzy. “Sean Clark has brought me on to a great team and I’m excited for the journey.”
The Brookfield, Conn. native spent 2021-22 as the diving coach at Brookfield High, where he led practices for new and advanced divers to prepare for competition in state and regional meets.
