Daniel Melong joined the UMass men’s soccer staff as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2016 after serving the previous season in the same capacity at Brown.

During the 2015 campaign at Brown, Melong helped the Bears post a 10-5-2 overall record with a 4-1-2 mark in the Ivy League. 

Prior to his time in Providence, Melong was a four-year member of the men’s soccer team at Bowdoin College, where he graduated with a degree in romance languages in 2015.

He also played with Shattuck-St. Mary's in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) at Under-18 and previously served as an assistant coach at the New England Soccer Academy.

Melong is a native of Winnipeg and holds a United States Soccer Federation National “E” License.
