Hrabal Tabbed Hockey East Co-Goaltender of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey junior goaltender Michael Hrabal has been tabbed Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Co-Goaltender of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. It marks the third weekly recognition for Hrabal and the ninth for a member of the Minutemen this season.  

The Prague, Czechia native helped UMass take 5-of-6 Hockey East points from No. 13/14 UConn, stopping 87 of 91 shots he faced on the weekend and 6-of-7 in a seven-round shootout. He posted a 1.92 save percentage and a .956 GAA for the week, while two of the four goals he allowed came on the power play.

Hrabal made 37 saves in Friday's 5-1 win on the road in Storrs and was named the game's No. 1 star. On Saturday, he had a career-high 50 saves in a 3-3 tie against the Huskies and made six saves in a seven-round shootout to help UMass secure the extra point in the standings.
