Massachusetts Women’s Lacrosse’s Connaughton Named MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse junior Ava Connaughton has been selected as the Mid-American Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday. Connaughton led UMass in scoring last week with seven points.
The junior extended her goal scoring streak to three to start the season as she tallied four points (2g, 2a) in a 17-9 loss to No. 23 Penn State and three points (2g, 1a) vs. Vermont. She also grabbed two ground balls and posted two caused turnovers against the Catamounts.
Through three games on the year, Connaughton is currently second in scoring for the Minutewomen with 10 points on five goals and five assists. UMass returns to action on Saturday, February 21, at LIU at 12 p.m.
