Softball Announces 51-Game 2026 Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts softball program released its 51-game slate for the 2026 season, head coach Danielle Henderson announced Friday afternoon. The Minutewomen will host 19 games at Sortino Field, including 15 in Mid-American conference play. Â
UMass begins the season with four tournaments, traveling to the River City Leadoff Tournament on February 6-8 in Jacksonville, Fla. first before heading to Charleston, S.C. for the Low Country Classic on Feb. 13-15. The Minutewomen continue tournament play with a five-game slate at the Joan Joyce Classic in Boca Raton, Fla. The non-conference tournament schedule concludes with at Madeira Beach, Fla., from Feb. 27 to March 1 as Massachusetts plays five contest. The early season tournament slate features matchups against Kansas, Florida Atlantic, Villanova, Sacred Heart and Colgate among others.Â
For the first time in program history, the Minutewomen will compete in the MAC after joining as a full member beginning on July 1, 2025. UMass will begin MAC play in Kent, Ohio on March 13 as it takes on Kent State in a three-game series. Massachusetts will then turn its attention to the 2026 home opener as the Minutewomen host Toledo on March 20 for their first home MAC series.Â

The Minutewomen will return home for back-to-back weekend series against Western Michigan (April 3-4) and Buffalo (April 7-8) before hosting Akron on April 17-18. Following two mid-week regional rival matchups against Boston University (April 28) and UConn (April 29), Massachusetts completes its 2024 regular season slate against Ohio on May 1-2. Â
The MAC Championship will be held on May 6-9 at Firstone Stadium in Akron, Ohio.Â
