Massachusetts Tennis Sweeps Holy Cross, 7-0

The Minutewomen are back in action on Sunday, Feb. 1, hosting Boston College at 1 p.m.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis swept College of the Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at the Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center.
Picking up the doubles point, Massachusetts claimed victories on all three courts. Partners Amelia Tye and Amanda de Oliveira downed Hannah Flynn and Maddie Hamm of Holy Cross, 6-2, at court No. 2, before Martina Pavissich and Madara Markevica secured the point with a 6-2 victory over the Crusaders' Ashley Zilora and Alison Lynn at No. 3 doubles. Ella Faessler and Renata Farima played out their doubles match at the No. 1 position, coming out on top, 6-3, over Phoebe Devine and Margaret Winiecki of Holy Cross.
The Minutewomen continued their momentum into singles action, sweeping all six slots. Pavissich claimed the first point with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Holy Cross' Hamm at No. 3, before Fiona Ao made it a 3-0 match after defeating Lynn of the Crusaders, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 4 position. Faessler took down Holy Cross' Devine, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, as Tye went 6-1, 6-4, over Flynn of Holy Cross at the No. 2 spot. Farima won, 6-0, 6-2, over Mia Romo of Holy Cross at court No. 6, while Markevica closed out the match with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Zilora of Holy Cross at court No. 5.
The Minutewomen welcome Boston College on Sunday, February 1, to the Bay Road Tennis Center for a 1 p.m. match.
