Massachusetts Tennis Edged Out By Boston College, 4-3

The Minutewomen claimed the doubles point in the loss.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis fell to Boston College, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center.
Massachusetts earned the doubles point with wins at all three courts. Martina Pavissich and Madara Markevica downed Olivia Cutone and Nadia Barteck of Boston College, 6-2, at court No. 3, before Amelia Tye and Amanda de Oliveira won 7-5, at No. 2 over the Eagles' Tola Glowacka and Bella Camacho.
The duo of Ella Faessler and Renata Farima won at No. 1 doubles by default, as they were tied with Olivia Benton and Leyden Games at 4-4, before the Boston College partners retired.
In singles competition, Pavissich picked up the first point for UMass, defeating Boston College's Glowacka, 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 3 position. Faessler made it a 3-0 match for the Minutewomen after taking down Natalie Eordekian of the Eagles, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Boston College then grabbed four consecutive points at courts No. 4, No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6.
UMass travels to Syracuse, New York on Saturday, February 7, for an 11 a.m. match against Syracuse, before facing Le Moyne on Sunday, February 8.
