Morris and Drummond Highlight A-10 End of Season Awards

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Senior attacker Kassidy Morris and Head Coach Jana Drummond highlighted seven total All-Conference awards for Massachusetts lacrosse, the Atlantic 10 announced Thursday Morning. Morris claimed her first Offensive Player of The Year honor while Drummond received her third consecutive Coach of The Year selection.  
  
The Minutewomen collected seven total awards across All-Conference, first, second, and academic teams. Morris received a first-team nod, while seniors Lauren Tolve and Jordan Dean each received second-team recognition. Senior Tessa Shields joined Morris as an All-Academic selection to round out Massachusetts' 2025 honors.
 
Head Coach Jana Drummond brings home her third straight A-10 Coach of The Year honor after leading the Minutewomen to their 14th consecutive A-10 Regular Season Championship and 16th straight season with either a regular season or tournament title. Drummond coached Massachusetts to a 13-7 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play. The Minutewomen finished the regular season by claiming their 55th consecutive A-10 regular season victory, with Drummond holding a 28-0 record over her three seasons as head coach.  
 
Morris earned her first major conference award after leading the A-10 while ranking fifth nationally in goals (70) and goals per game (4.38) over 16 regular season matchups. Pacing the league's top offense, Morris topped the A-10 while ranking ninth nationally in points per game (5.69).  A three-time A-10 Offensive Player of The Week, Morris set the Massachusetts single-season goal record, passing program legends Kiley Anderson and Sam Rush who each recorded 67. One of the nation's top offensive creators, Morris led the A-10 and ranked second nationally in shots on goal (7.44) and total shots per game (9.44) 
 
Tolve claimed her first career All-Conference selection after a stellar regular season which saw her lead Massachusetts in ground balls (29) while ranking second in draw controls (42). The 2025 Team Captain recorded a career-high three hat tricks on the season while recording six multi-point games. The midfielder repeatedly made a strong defensive impact in the midfield, ranking top- 10 in the conference in caused turnovers per game (1.38). A consistent presence, Tolve started every game for a Massachusetts team which ranked top-10 nationally and top-2 in the A-10 in caused turnovers per game (12.00) and ground balls per game (19.25).   
 
Jordan Dean received her third consecutive All-Conference honor after a 2025 campaign which saw her start every game on defense while once again dominating the A-10 in the draw control circle. A 2025 Team Captain, Dean led the A-10 while ranking fifth nationally in draw controls per game (11.44). Continuing to re-write the record books she set the Massachusetts career draw control record, finishing the regular season with 619, just 26 away from the NCAA all-time mark. The Greenbank, Ontario native recorded 23 draw controls against Duquesne, the most by any Division I player since Caitlyn Petro ('21) on April 23, 2021 vs. St. Bonaventure. Having her best season outside of the circle, Dean set career-highs in goals (4), ground balls (22) and caused turnovers (13). 
 
Tessa Shields earned her first All-Academic award after an excellent campaign on the field and in the classroom. A finance major, Shields ended the regular season on a streak of 14 consecutive multi-goal games while ranking 32nd nationally and fourth in the A-10 in points per game (4.5). Receiving A-10 Offensive Player of The Week honors, she ranked 57th nationally and ninth in the A-10 in goals per game (3.0). 
 
Massachusetts has now claimed nine A-10 major awards in the last three seasons, including three consecutive Offensive Player and Coach of The Year honors. Overall, the Minutewomen have received 38 major awards since 1999. 
 
The no. 1 seeded  Minutewomen begin the postseason in Richmond facing the winner of the No. 4 Richmond/No. 5 St. Bonaventure matchup in the A-10 Championship semifinals on Friday, May 2 at 12 p.m. Every game of the A-10 Women's Lacrosse Championship will be broadcast on ESPN+ with links and live updates found on umassathletics.com or UMassLacrosse on Twitter.
