Massachusetts Men’s Track and Field Compete at Georgia Tech and Jim Kavanagh Legacy Invitationals

AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team had a decorated weekend at the Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19, as well as the Jim Kavanagh Legacy Invitational on Saturday, April 19.

Georgia Tech Invitational:
- Godot Gaskins placed sixth in the men's 400m dash, crossing the finish line in 47.12.
- Aiden Donovan rounded out the top-10 in the men's discus with a toss of 158'4".
Jim Kavanagh Legacy Invitational
- The trio of Michael Norberg (1st), Riley Cole (2nd) and Cyrus Hansen (3rd) swept the podium in the men's 2K steeplechase, with times of 5:37.85, 5:52.64 and 6:06.69.
- Michael Norberg claimed silver in the men's 1500m run, crossing the finish line in 3:58.30. Nick Calitri finished shortly behind, earning bronze with a time of 3:59.56.
- Elijah Wolinski secured bronze in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 15.12.
- Corey Sanders placed fifth in the men's 400m dash, crossing the line in 49.59.
- Jason Dejesus took fifth in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.94. Adithya Hari placed eighth, crossing in 11.42.
- Tyler Medeiros rounded out the top-10 in the men's 800m run, finishing in 1:57.72.
- Malcolm Clark placed fourth in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 57.27.
- Michael Sanchez placed seventh in the men's 200m dash with a time of 22.33.
- Aidan Lee, Elijah Wolinski, Alex Bishop and Jacob Brown combined to run a 3:24.36, good enough for silver. Michael Sanchez, Tyler Medeiros, Tory Stuckey and Malcolm Clark finished just behind, claiming bronze with a time of 3:25.53.
- Aaron Fishler had the fifth-best throw in the men's hammer with a toss of 163'6". Jack Ngo claimed eighth with a throw of 138'8".
- Brennan Ibbitson claimed fifth in the men's discus with a throw of 133'11". Jacob Brown took sixth with a toss of 132'11".
- Brennan Ibbitson (8th) and Jack Ngo (9th) placed back-to-back in the men's shot put with throws of 43'2.5" and 40'8.75", respectively.
- Elijah Wolinski earned bronze in the men's javelin with a toss of 156'7".
- Hunter Fietel took bronze in the men's pole vault, clearing a bar of 14'5.25".
- Aidan Lee claimed gold in the men's high jump, clearing 6'8". Tory Stuckey took fourth with a height of 6'2.25".
