Massachusetts Men’s Track and Field Has Big Weekend at Ken O'Brien Pre-Conference Qualifier

AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team had a stellar weekend at the Ken O'Brien Pre-Conference Qualifier meet in Amherst, Mass.
Highlights from Competition:
Massachusetts returns to action next weekend to compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Fairfax, Va. on May 3-4.
Highlights from Competition:
- Jason Dejesus, Adithya Hari, Chamberlain Guthrie and Godot Gaskins combined to run a 41.26 in the men's 4x100m relay, securing silver.
- Erik Unger (2nd) and Will Kenney (3rd) rounded out the podium in the men's 1500m run, crossing the finish line 3:50.73 and 3:51.51, respectively. Collin Catherwood rounded out the top five with a time of 3:52.52.
- Corey Sanders placed ninth in the men's 400m dash, finishing in 50.41.
- Jason Dejesus finished seventh in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.80. Adithya Hari rounded out the top 10 with a time of 10.87.
- Nicholas Calitri placed eighth in the men's 800m run, crossing the finish line 1:55.42.
- Jack Freyler claimed silver in the men's javelin with a throw of 183'3". Elijah Wolinski secured the sixth-best throw at 164'9".
- Chris Scalia earned bronze in the men's 400m hurdles, finishing in 55.09. Malcolm Clark finished shortly behind, taking fourth in 55.42.
- Godot Gaskins secured silver in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.31. Winston Lewis rounded out the top-10, crossing the finish line in 21.83.
- Mark Sten, Chris Scalia, Malcolm Clark and Michael Harden combined to run 3:15.51 in the men's 4x400m relay, claiming gold. Michael Sanchez, Corey Sanders, Aidan Lee and Godot Gaskins took second in 1:41.61.
- Carson Crump claimed silver in the men's long jump with a leap of 22'10". Chamberlain Guthrie took fourth with a jump of 22'7.25".
- Carson Crump also took gold in the men's high jump, clearing a bar of 6'4.75.". Tory Stuckey tied for silver, with a jump of 6'2.75". Alex Bishop rounded out the top-five clearing 5'10.75".
- Hunter Feitel claimed bronze in the men's pole vault, clearing 14'8".
- Matthew Acquah claimed silver in the men's triple jump with a distance of 49'4".
- Aiden Donovan earned silver in the men's shot put with a throw of 52'9", with Brennan Ibbitson claiming ninth with a toss of 44'9.50".
- Aiden Donovan also claimed bronze in the men's discus with a throw of 163'1".
Massachusetts returns to action next weekend to compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Fairfax, Va. on May 3-4.
