Andrew Bell will compete in the one- and three-meter dives, beginning on Thursday, March 27.
AMHERST, Mass. – Junior Andrew Bell of the University of Massachusetts men's swimming and diving team readies for competition at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday, March 27 through Friday, March 28, in Federal Way, Washington, hosted by Washington State University, at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.
The prelims on Thursday and Friday begin at 3 p.m., with the finals taking place at 9 p.m. Both events can be streamed on ESPN+.
Bell is the only Minuteman diver in school history to represent Massachusetts at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in back-to-back years. It also marks the third time a Minuteman diver will attend the event, as Bell qualified in both the one- and three-meter events in 2024, and Jason Cook ('12) became the first diver to attend for the men's team in 2009.
Bell qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships after becoming the NCAA Zone A Diving Champion in both the one- and three-meter dive. The South Windsor, Connecticut, native, placed first in the Prelims/Quarterfinals of the one-meter dive and moved on to the Finals, totaling a 747.25, which marked a new school record of 12-dives.
The three-meter saw Bell advance to the Finals after claiming the top spot in the Prelims/Quarterfinals Round. He solidified his spot to the NCAA Championships with a 12-dive total of 773.90, setting a new school record to surpass Jason Cook's 2011 12-dive record of 743.90.
