Massachusetts Hockey Picks Up Pair Of Weekly Awards From Hockey East

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts picked up two weekly awards after taking four of six points in its weekend series against New Hampshire this past weekend. Sophomore goaltender Michael Hrabal was named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Week for his fourth weekly award this season and junior forward Cole O'Hara was named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week for his second Hockey East weekly award of the year. In total, the Minutemen have collected eight Hockey East weekly awards in 2024-25.

Hrabal posted a 1-0-1 record with a 1.92 goals against average and a .940 save percentage over two games against New Hampshire with 63 saves. He turned aside 28 of 31 shots (.903 sv %) in Friday's 3-3 tie at UNH. The Prague, Czechia native then stopped 35 of 36 shots in the 3-1 win against the Wildcats on Saturday and was named the game's second star.

O'Hara tallied three points with one goal and two assists on the weekend against UNH, extending his point streak to 10 straight games and pulling into a tie for the national lead in point scoring with 45 on 18 goals and 27 assists. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native was +2 and blocked three shots against the Wildcats, as well. O'Hara tallied an assist and two blocked shots in the tie against UNH, and scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the in the come from behind 3-1 win on Saturday, earning the No. 1 star of the game.
