Musa Earns Hockey East Player Of The Month Recognition

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey junior forward Jack Musa has been selected as the Hockey East Player of the Month for October, the league announced on Wednesday. It marks the first monthly award for the Minutemen since the 2023-24 season and first Player of the Month accolade of Musa's career.
The Orange Park, Florida native led UMass in scoring last month with 12 points on six goals and six assists, helping the squad go 6-2-0. He was +4 with two power-play goals, one shorthanded goal and two game winners and blocked seven shots over those eight contests, as well, posting a 26.1% shooting percentage. Musa won 11 of the 21 faceoffs in October for a 52.4% clip and began the month with a seven-game point scoring streak.
He logged four multi-point games last month, including a five-point weekend against Northern Michigan to open the season. Musa was the hero in UMass' win at Omaha on October 24, scoring a late game-winner in UMass' 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Mavericks.
