AMHERST, Mass. – For his efforts helping lead #17/18 Massachusetts hockey to a 2-1 overtime victory at #16 Providence last Thursday, sophomore Mikey DeAngelo was tabbed Co-Hockey East Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. It marks the first weekly honor for DeAngelo and the fifth for a member of the Minutemen this season.

In the win over the Friars, the Itasca, Illinois native netted both UMass goals, a power-play goal in the second period and the overtime game winner. He also blocked three shots in the contest and won 6-of-9 (66.7%) faceoffs, earning the game's No. 1 star.

The performance was DeAngelo's first multi-goal game of his career and third career multi-point game. He currently has eight points on five goals and three assists through 15 games on the season, one shy of matching his freshman year points total in 33 games at Michigan State.
