UMass' Keenan Added To United States Collegiate Select Roster For Spengler Cup

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey sophomore defenseman has been added to the United States Collegiate Select hockey team roster for the 2025 Spengler Cup, it was announced on Thursday. The Midhurst, Ontario native joins junior forward Jack Musa as the second member of the Minutemen selected to compete in the prestigious tournament in late December in Davos, Switzerland.

Through 11 games on the season, Keenan has logged five points on two goals and three assists and is +5 with 17 blocks. Thus far in his collegiate career he has seen action in 51 contests and put up 16 points (6g, 10a) with a +21 rating.

The United States Collegiate Selects will face Team Canada to open play Spengler Cup play on December 26. Each team will play a minimum of three contests and maximum of five during the six-day event.

The tournament is being broadcast to over 20 countries, either through a partner or via livestream. Official word on how the games can be seen in the United States will be announced at a later date.

The U.S. Collegiate Select team will be made up of 25 student-athletes from across NCAA men's ice hockey. The competition runs from December 26-31, with the six participating teams. Along with the Selects, host HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Fribourg-Gotteron, Sparta Praha and IFK Helsinki will be taking part in the 2025 edition.
