AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey forwards junior Jack Musa and freshman Lukáš Klecka have both received weekly awards from Hockey East following a weekend sweep of Northern Michigan to start the 2025-26 campaign. Musa was tabbed Co-Hockey East Player of the Week, while Klecka earned Rookie of the Week recognition.

Musa put up five points on three goals and two assists in the pair of wins against the Wildcats, won 5-of-5 faceoffs and was +3 on the weekend. The Orange Park, Florida native opened the scoring in Saturday's 5-3 victory, had an assist on the game-winner in a come-from-behind third period and added a late shorthanded empty net goal. On Sunday, Musa set up the game-opening power-play goal and registered an empty net goal after NMU had cut the deficit to one, scoring with the extra attacker.

Klecka scored in both games against Northern Michigan for the first two tallies of his career. He totaled five shots and was +2 in his opening weekend of collegiate competition. The Bratislava, Slovakia native tied the score in the second period of Saturday's 5-3 win when UMass was trailing 2-1. He then followed up on Sunday with an empty net goal to help secure the 4-1 win.
