2025 Season Preview: Massachusetts Men’s Swim & Dive

The Minutemen kickoff the 2025-26 season on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Boston College.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's swimming and diving begin its 2025-26 campaign on Saturday, October 4, on the road against Boston College at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, at 12 p.m.
The upcoming season marks the 88th season for the program, with UMass posting an overall record of 468-294-2 (.613), and the sixth season under head coach Sean Clark. It also marks the first year in the Missouri Valley Conference for the Minutemen.
New Faces
The Minutemen return 13 members from last season, while adding nine members for the 2025-26 season.
The newcomers feature freshmen Hudson Bawduniak, Chase Dai, Bode Groh, Carson Harrington, Liam Hickey, Sota Kawahata, Eli Panachyda, Miles Smyczek and Macek Vandemolen.
The 2024-25 Season
Massachusetts completed its 2024-25 season at the Atlantic 10 Championships at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Virginia. The men placed sixth with a score of 332. Former Minutemen Andrew Bell collected two gold medals, while earning the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Diver of the Year accolade for the second straight year.
Additionally, Chase Keeler broke two freshman records, swimming a time of 1:48.79 in the 200 individual medley and a 3:55.55 in the 400 individual medley.
Two Minutemen competed in the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, with Bell and Alex Kreidler. Bell qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in both the one- and three-meter dives.
2025-26 Season Schedule
After the first meet at Boston College on the road, UMass will remain on the road for the Justin Jennings Invitational (Oct. 10-11) and a scrimmage at Yale (Oct. 25). The Minutemen welcome Harvard for a dual meet on Friday, November 7, for their home opener at the Joseph R. Rogers Jr., Pool, before hosting Boston University on November 8. UMass heads to Boston University for the annual Terrier Invitational (Nov. 21-23), while the Minutemen divers close out the 2025 year with a diving only exhibition against La Salle in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Dec. 6).
The new year kicks off with a home meet against Bryant on January 5, before gearing up for the Tate Ramsden Invitational, hosted by Dartmouth (Jan. 16-17). Massachusetts hosts Fairfield in Amherst on January 24 and then travels to Fordham (Jan. 31) for a dual meet. The divers finish the regular season at the Northeastern Diving Invitational (Feb. 7).
