Late Goal Secures Draw against Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. -- Massachusetts (5-3-5, 1-1-1 Summit) snatched a late draw against Omaha (2-6-3, 1-1-1 Summit) on Saturday after falling behind 1-0 in the opening minutes of the game.

Brad Moccio tied the game for the Minutemen, netting his first of the season with Matt Cence earning the assist.

Breaking Down the Action

In the second minute of the game, Omaha's Italo Jenkins found the back of the net for an early 1-0 lead.
A shot by Jalen Belong looked to even the score but were unable to convert.
Massachusetts earned a corner kick in the 18^th minute and did not score off it.
Keeper Alex Geczy made a diving save on the left side of the net to keep the Minutemen deficit to one.
Back-to-back corners by the Minutemen in the 20^th minute with a header attempt looked to get a scoring opportunity but were stopped by Keeper Kamy Ndione.
Last minute free kick by Massachusetts but couldn't find the net.
The Minutemen opened the second half with a corner kick in the 47^th minute but couldn't capitalize.
A shot by Yoshiki Igarashi towards the center of the net was saved by Geczy.
Not long after, Massachusetts earned a free kick by Joey Bianco in the 66^th minute was saved by Ndione.
After stealing the ball from two defenders, Shane Velez had back-to-back shot attempt in the 79^th minute but came up empty.
A few minutes later, at the 82-minute mark a corner kick by Cence was tapped in by Moccio to tie the game at 1-1.
Despite opportunities to take the lead for both teams, the game settled at a draw.
