Gaskins & Acquah set Program Records at Battle in Beantown

BOSTON, Mass. --Â The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team altered the program record books following the Battle in Beantown meet on Saturday, with nine new entries into the all-time top 10 and two program records in the triple jump and 300m dash.

Highlights from Competition:
- Godot Gaskins set a new program record in the men's 300m dash, placing second with a time of 33.81. Chris Scalia (36.22), Mark Sten (36.35), and Malcolm Clark (36.50) also ran their way into the program's top 10 for the event, ranking 7th-9th respectively.
- Matthew Acquah scored a podium placement in the triple jump, setting a new program-best of 50'00.50".
- Corey Sanders place 4th in the men's 400m dash with a time of 49.27. Michael Sanchez (50.30) finished shortly after, earning 7th.
- Colin Kirn (1:21.61) and Nicholas Calitri (1:21.82) rounded out the top 10 placements in the men's 600m run, finishing 9th and 10th respectively. Tyler Medeiros (1:23.45) joins Calitri as new members of the program's top 10 performance list for the event, with Kirn sitting at no. 1 with his program-leading time from 2024's Battle in Beantown.
- Will Kenney (4:05.11) and Collin Catherwood (4:05.38) earned silver and bronze in the men's mile. Catherwood's time made him a new member of the program's top 10 performers for the mile, ranking fifth overall. Kenney's 2024 program record of 4:01.48 remains at the top of the Massachusetts record books.
- The 4x400m relay team of Winston Lewis, Michael Sanchez, Corey Sanders, and Godot Gaskins recorded the 10th-best time in the school's history, clocking in at 3:17.01, placing 3rd overall.
- Nick Cramer finished 4th in the men's 60m hurdles finals with a time of 8.59.
- Hunter Feitel earned bronze in the pole vault, clearing 14'07.25".
- Chamberlain Guthrie placed 4th in the long jump, recording a best of 21'05.25" on the day.
- Jack Ngo claimed bronze in the shot put, recording a distance of 42'00.50".
