Massachusetts Men's Track & Field Team Open Up River Hawk Invitational

BOSTON, Mass.- The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team opened up the weekend as they competed in the River Hawk Invitational on Friday at the Track at New Balance.
Highlights from Competition:
UMass visits the Boston University Track & Tennis Center to compete in the Battle in Beantown on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Highlights from Competition:
- Will Kenney placed second in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:18.00, and also ran the ninth-best time in the men's 800m with a time of 1:55.23.
 - Colin Kirn placed fifth in the men's 500m run with a time of 1:05.11, and Corey Sanders cracked into the top 10 (9th) running in 1:06.10.Â
 - Hunter Feitel placed seventh overall clearing 14'6.25" in the men's pole vault.Â
 - The duo of Chamberlain Guthrie (8th) and Jacob Brown (10th) each earned top 10 finishes in the men's long jump, with leaps of 21'8.25" and 21'7.25", respectively. Elijah Wolinski also broke into the top 15 (12th) with a jump of 21'2".Â
 - Riley Cole made his season debut in the 3000m, running in 8:43.29, which was good enough for 31st overall.
