BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team returned to action on Sunday, opening the new year hosting the UMass Flagship Indoor Invitational at the Track at New Balance.
 
Highlights from Competition:
  • Chloe Taylor was victorious in the pole vault, recording a best of 12'06" on the day. Maia Perillo claimed second with a best of 11'05.75".
  • Ainsley Wiesner earned first place in the weight throw in her second-straight meet, recording a distance of 56'06". Jaliyah Burns (51'05.75") also placed on the podium for UMass at third.
  • Ruth Michel earned second in the long jump with a distance of 17'11.75". Shakira Cadet placed third at 17'09.75".
  • Michel (38'02.75") and Cadet (38'02") also placed second and third in the triple jump respectively.
  • Sadai Headley-Mawasi scored silver in the 200m dash with a time of 25.34. India Ingemi (4th), Ali Murphy (8th), and Faith Richardson (9th) also placed in the top 10.
  • Courtney Rowland earned second in the high jump, clearing 5'03".
  • Caroline Mullady claimed bronze in the 400m dash, finishing at 58.07.
  • Katelyn Gorgenyi finished third in the 60m hurdles finals with a time of 8.97. Jennifer Williams followed shortly after at 9.12.
  • The women's 4x400m relay team of Ingemi, Mullady, Murphy, and Headley-Mawasi placed third with an overall time of 3:54.71.
  • Agnes Thundal recorded a time of 2:16.89 in the 800m run, earning her 4th place.
  • Eve Segal finished fourth in the shot put with a best of 41'00.25" on the day. Natalie Krysta earned fifth with a distance of 40'04.25".
  • Richardson placed fifth in the women's 60m dash finals at 7.79, followed by Alysia Spencer (8th) with a time of 8.08.
  • Rylee Shunney placed fifth in the 3000m run with a time of 9:55.87.
