AMHERST, Mass.-Â The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team is set to compete in the Atlantic 10 Championship this weekend. The championship will be held at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and will take place on Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th.

The Minutemen are seeking their first Atlantic 10 Championship as they hope to knock of reigning champion Rhode Island. In last year's meet, UMass hosted last year's conference meet where they finished fifth with a team score of 73 while URI captured their third straight Atlantic 10 crown. At the meet, UMass earned six medals including a bronze for the 4x100m relay team consisting of Felipe Gonzalez, Michael Rodia, Michael Harden, and Godot Gaskins who set the school record with a time of 40.89.
