Minutewomen Complete Day One Of NEICAAA Championship

WORCESTER, Mass.- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team completed day one of the NEICAAA Championship at Holy Cross on Friday. Rebecca Hartman was the top finisher for the Minutewomen, taking sixth in the 5000m.
Highlights from competition:
- Rebecca Hartman earned sixth in the 5000m with a time of 17:27.18.
- Winnie Sekyaya was the top Minutewoman in the long jump, coming in eighth with a jump of 18' 3.25".
- Ali Murphy placed 11th in the 400m with a time of 58.78 while Sarah Witt came in 15th.
- Freshman Evalysse Pierce's throw of 112' 02" earned her ninth in the javelin.
The Minutemen will be back in action tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. for the second and final day of the NEICAAA Championship.
