Massachusetts Hockey Reveals 2024-25 Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey will have 19 home games on the docket, including a pair of exhibition matchups, highlighting its 2024-25 schedule, which was announced on Friday. The Minutemen will open their ninth season under head coach Greg Carvel on Saturday, October 5 at Bentley.

UMass will then host RPI for an exhibition matchup on Sunday, October 6, before heading to Las Vegas for the Ice Breaker Tournament on October 11-12. The Minutemen will play Omaha in the first round and will then face either Minnesota or Air Force in consolation/championship round.

Massachusetts will return to the East Coast for a home-and-home against Sacred Heart with the Friday matchup on October 18 set as the home opener before the teams meet in Fairfield, Connecticut the following day.

On Friday, October 25, UMass will begin Hockey East action versus UConn at the Mullins Center and will play the Huskies in Storrs on October 26, beginning a stretch of four straight on the road.

The Minutemen's road swing continues into November with trips to AIC (Nov. 2) and Vermont (Nov. 8-9) before the squad comes back to the Mullins Center on Thursday, November 14. UMass will then face the Friars in Providence on Saturday, November 16.

Harvard will visit Amherst on Friday, November 22 before UMass closes out a three-game homestand with Vermont and Army on November 24 and 29 respectively.

Massachusetts will wrap up the semester against Boston University, playing the Terriers in Boston on Saturday, December 7 and then will host BU on Wednesday, December 11. The Minutemen will end the calendar year with a home exhibition matchup against Simon Fraser on Saturday, December 28.

The Minutemen will kick off 2025 in Tempe, Arizona at the Desert Hockey Classic against Cornell on Friday, January 3, and will take on either host Arizona State or Robert Morris on Saturday, January 4.

Hockey East play resumes for UMass at Northeastern on Friday, January 10 with the Huskies visiting the Mullins Center on Saturday, January 11. The Minutemen will play three more league matchups that month, all against Merrimack, which are slated for January 17 (away), January 18 (home) and January (31). During that stretch, UMass will also host its final non-conference games of the season, taking on Alaska on January 24-25.

The Minutemen will open the month of February with three straight on the road, traveling to Maine (Feb. 2), UConn (Feb. 7) and Boston College (Feb. 15) before coming back to Mullins to host BC on Saturday, February 15.

Massachusetts will play a home-and-home against New Hampshire on Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22 with the two-game set beginning in Durham, New Hampshire.

UMass Lowell will visit the Mullins Center on Thursday, February 27 before the Minutemen travel to Lowell on Saturday, March 1.

UMass will then close out the regular season with a pair at the Mullins Center against Maine on March 7-8.

A reminder to all 2023-24 Massachusetts hockey season ticket holders, the renewal period for 2024-25 season tickets is now open. Season ticket packages start at $272 and include one ticket to each of the Minutemen's 17 regular season home games as well as a complementary ticket to a Hockey East playoff matchup, should UMass host.
