Massachusetts Men's Track & Field Finish Day One Of Atlantic 10 Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- The University of Massachusetts men's track & field team completed day one of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships on Friday. The Minutemen are currently in fifth with a score of 14 while George Mason leads the pack with a score of 59.
Highlights from competition:
- Sophomore Aaron Fishler recorded the first points of the meet for the Minutemen, placing seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 49' 6.25".
- The DMR team consisting of Collin Catherwood, Chris Matthews, Will Kenney, and Nicholas Calitri claimed bronze with a time of 9:55.39.
- Nasir Perry took fifth in the 60m hurdles prelim with a time of 8.13 and will race in the finals on Saturday.
- Junior Godot Gaskins claimed second in the 400m prelims with a time of 48.34.
- Shane Grant qualified for the 1000m finals after coming in fifth with a time of 2:27.57 during the prelims.
The Atlantic 10 Championships will resume Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
