AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team hosts Rhode Island Wednesday for its Play4Kay game. The Minutewomen and Rams tip off in the Mullins Center at 6 p.m. on NESN+ and ESPN+.

Play4Kay
UMass' game against Rhode Island on Wednesday, Feb. 14 is the annual Play4Kay game. The Minutewomen will wear special white and pink uniforms and are raising money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. 

Last Time Out
The Minutewomen were defeated on the road at Fordham on Saturday, 64-50. Kristin Williams led the Minutewomen with 17 points on the game, including 13 in the fourth quarter. UMass outscored Fordham 24-9 over the final 10 minutes of the game and shot 9-of-14 (.642) in the quarter. 

Series History
Wednesday's game marks the 92nd all-time meeting between the Minutewomen and the Rams dating back to the first matchup during the 1973-74 season. UMass leads the all-time series with a 50-41 record while Rhode Island claimed the last meeting earlier this season in Kingston, 63-48.

Gimme That
Stefanie Kulesza tied her career-high with eight steals at Fordham on Saturday, ranking fifth-most in a single game in program history. Kulesza first reached the eight steal mark against Loyola Chicago on Jan. 17 and has a team-leading 47 steals on the season. Her nine steals last week ranked eighth-most among DI players while her 4.5 steals per game was 17th and tops in the A-10.

Another Career High
Alexsia Rose matched or passed her career-high in three consecutive games beginning with La Salle and ending against Duquesne. The guard set a new career-best mark with 23 points against Duquesne on Wednesday afternoon after reaching a then career-high 22 points at Saint Joseph's. Rose began the three-game stretch by tying her career-high with 18 against La Salle and is averaging 21.0 points per game during the span.

Quick O
Kristin Williams poured in 13 of her team-leading 17 points at Fordham in the fourth quarter on Saturday. The guard played all 10 minutes in the frame and went 4-of-7 from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. Against La Salle at home earlier this season, Williams scored six points in 11 seconds of game time to help UMass tie at 61-61 in the final moments. The guard scored 10 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter, finishing 4-of-7 from the field and 2-of-4 from 3-point range over the final 10 minutes.

Turning Them Over
Among Division I teams last week, UMass ranked 21st in turnovers forced per game at 22 and led the A-10 in the category. The Minutewomen came up with 11.5 steals per game over two games last week to mark the 33rd-most in DI while holding a plus seven advantage in turnover margin.

Crashing The Boards
Stefanie Kulesza leads the Minutewomen in rebounds with 7.2 per game to rank seventh among Atlantic 10 leaders. The guard's 179 rebounds for the season ranks sixth most in the A-10. Kulesza set a career mark with 14 rebounds against both Saint Peter's and UMass Lowell and has surpassed 10 rebounds in five games this season.

On Target
Lilly Taulelei and Stefanie Kulesza both rank among the top-20 in the Atlantic 10. Taulelei's .471 field goal percentage is 10th-best in the league while Kulesza's .450 is 16th among A-10 leaders.

Looking Ahead
Four games remain on the regular season schedule for the Minutewomen following Wednesday's game against Rhode Island. UMass plays two of its final four games in the Mullins Center, including a matchup with VCU on Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. The Minutewomen conclude the regular season at home on Wednesday, Feb. 28 with a 6 p.m. tip against St. Bonaventure.

Atlantic 10 Tournament
The 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship will be held March 6-10 in Henrico, Va. at the new, 3,500-seat Henrico Sports & Events Center. The tournament begins with first round action on Wednesday, March 6 with three games followed by four games on Thursday and Friday.
