AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team heads to Kingston, R.I. for a Saturday afternoon matchup against Rhode Island. The Minutewomen and Rams tip off at 1 p.m. in the Ryan Center on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Minutewomen were defeated on the road at Davidson on Wednesday, 72-42. UMass rallied back from down 13 early in the second quarter after Kristin Williams converted on three consecutive 3-pointers in a span of a minute to make it a 21-17 game with 6:47 to go in the first half.

Series History
Saturday's game is the 91st all-time meeting between UMass and Rhode Island dating back to the first matchup during the 1973-74 season. The Minutewomen hold a 50-40 all-time series lead and is 23-19 in Kingston. The teams split a pair of meetings a season ago with both road teams coming away with wins. UMass won the second matchup on Feb. 16 at Rhode Island, 78-57.

Heating Up
Junior guard Kristin Williams poured in a career-high 20 points against George Mason on Sunday while tying her career-high with four 3-pointers made on seven attempts. Williams has reached double figures in scoring in eight of her last 10 games and is averaging 14.8 points per game during the span. At Davidson on Wednesday, Williams knocked down three straight triples on consecutive possessions to rack up nine points in 1:00 of game time.


Crashing The Boards
Stefanie Kulesza ranks fifth among Atlantic 10 leaders in rebounds and rebounds per game while leading the Minutewomen in both categories. Kulesza averages 7.7 rebounds per game with her 154 total rebounds ranking 66th among Division I leaders. The guard set a career mark with 14 rebounds against both Saint Peter's and UMass Lowell and has surpassed 10 rebounds in five games this season.

New Career High
Freshman forward Chinenye Odenigbo set a new career high with nine points and finished 4-of-7 from the field at Davidson on Wednesday. Odenigbo reached double digits in rebounds for the first time in her career at La Salle as she finished with a game-high 10 rebounds in 12 minutes. The freshman missed time earlier this season due to injury and made her return on Dec. 1 at Yale and has appeared in nine games since coming back to the lineup.

Looking Ahead
UMass faces off against two foes from Philadelphia next week and begins the stretch with La Salle on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. in the Mullins Center. The Minutewomen then head to Saint Joseph's on Saturday, Feb. 3 for a 2 p.m. tip.

Field Trip Day
Wednesday's game against La Salle is the annual Field Trip Day game for the Minutewomen. The game tips off at 11 a.m. in the Mullins Center and will have students from local schools in attendance.
