Massachusetts Women's Track & Field Finish BU's Battle In Beantown

BOSTON, Mass.- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team competed in the Battle in Beantown hosted by BU on Saturday. Rebecca Hartman finished second in the 3000m with a personal best time of 9:58.27 to lead the Minutewomen.
ÂHighlights from competition
- Jaliyah Burns finished seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 54' 2". The throw is good for third all-time in program history.
- Tiarra Deveaux came in fourth in the long jump with a jump of 18'2.25".
- Katelyn Gorgenyi once again made the 60m hurdles finals where she finished with a time of 8.99.
- UConn transfer Elise O'Leary placed fourth in the 600m with a personal best time of 1:35.03.
- Senior Faith Richardson finished seventh in the 60m dash with a time of 7.80.
- Alex Costantino ran a personal best time of 2:13.42 in the 800m to finish fourth.Â
- Freshman Shakira Cadet finished fourth in triple jump with a personal best mark of 37'9.5".
- Marielsa McBride placed fifth in the high jump with a jump of 5'5".
The Minutewomen will be back in action as they head to the UML River Hawk Invite on Friday, January 26th and the BU Terrier Invite on Saturday January 27th.
