Women’s Soccer Draws With St. Bonaventure, 0-0, On Senior Day

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts women's soccer team's Senior Day resulted in a 0-0 draw with St. Bonaventure on Sunday afternoon at Rudd Field.
With a 5-0-1 record at home, it is the first time the program has been undefeated following Rudd Field's opening in the fall of 2002, including ties, since both the 2021 and 2008 seasons, when the team won six straight.
The Minutewomen are now 7-3-4 overall on the year and 4-1-2 in league competition, while the Bonnies move to 3-4-6 overall and 2-2-2 in the Atlantic 10.
UMass' offense got off to a strong start in the first half, registering eight shots, that continued well into the second half of the contest, tallying seven more in the final 45 minutes. The Minutewomen defense had a strong effort throughout the game, as well, holding the Bonnies to only three shots in both the first and second half.
Massachusetts had several scoring opportunities, placing six of its 15 shots on target, while St. Bonaventure had one shot on goal.
Junior forward Chandler Pedolzky led the team in shots with three, including one shot on goal. Senior forward Grace Pinkus, senior midfielder Sarah Cramer and junior midfielder Bella Recinos all followed with two shots apiece, with Recinos recording a shot on net.
Senior goalkeeper Bella Mendoza made one saves on the afternoon through the full 90 minutes, recording her sixth shutout of the season and ninth of her career. Chiara Gottinger of St. Bonaventure turned aside five shots on the day.
UMass will head to Saint Louis, Missouri, on Thursday, October 12, to take on No. 24 Saint Louis at 8 p.m. on ESPN+.
