Massachusetts Women's Track And Field Has Successful Day At John Thomas Terrier Classic

Saturday's meet at Boston University concluded the Minutewomen's record-breaking weekend.
BOSTON, Mass. - University of Massachusetts women's track and field wrapped up their weekend today at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, where Kathryn Nippert entered her name into the record books in her second event of the weekend, while Lillian Kirry and Rose Wagner both recorded all-time best performances as well.
Highlights from Competition:
The Minutewomen return to action this Thursday and Friday, Feb. 2 and 3 as they head to the New England Championship meet at the TRACK at New Balance.
Highlights from Competition:
- Kathryn Nippert recorded a fourth-place finish in long jump, leaping 18' 4.25".
- Lillian Kirry took third place in the 400m in 55.97, moving her to No. 3 all-time in program history. Nippert took sixth place in the event in 56.11, entering her name in the record books for the event as No. 4 all-time at UMass.
- Rose Wagner won pole vault, leaping 12' 3.5", tying for No. 2 all-time at UMass in the event. Grace Sciacca recorded a ninth-place finish, clearing 10' 10".
- Gabrielle Bilong took ninth in the triple jump, recording a 36' 8.5" mark.Â
- Marielsa McBride placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 5' 3". Elizabeth Lodge tied for ninth place, clearing 5' 1".
