Nippert, Pagnini, and Phan Lead Massachusetts Women's Track And Field At Riverhawk Invitational

Nippert entered the record books in the 200-meter dash, while Pagnini and Phan bettered their all-time marks on Friday.
BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team battled at the Riverhawk Invitational on Friday, where Kathryn Nippert, Gabriella Pagnini, and Adriana Phan entered the record books in their respective events.
Highlights from Competition:
- Adriana Phan bettered her No. 7 all-time best 60-meter hurdles time to 8.90 in the preliminary round and took seventh place in the event on the day.

Elizabeth Donnelly won the 1,000-meter run in 2:54.03. Hannah Rose Beckman followed behind in sixth place, running a 2:58.65.

Kathryn Nippert is now No. 5 all-time in program history in the 200-meter dash, running to third place in 25.09 seconds. Lillian Kirry finished on her heels in fourth place, running a time of 25.22 seconds.

Pagnini took fifth in the shot put, recording a 41' 5.75" toss.

Pagnini also placed third in the weight throw with a 54' 1" personal-best mark, bettering her No. 3 all-time program-best record. Jaliyah Burns followed closely behind in seventh place with a 49' 0" throw.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Alexandra Gonet, Marielsa McBride, Daniella Pierre, and Sarah Witt took the runner-up spot in the race, clocking in at a time of 3:56.90.

The Minutewomen return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 28 as they stay in Boston for the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University.
